Indirect sentence-কে direct করতে reported speech এবং reported verb দুই অংশে ভাগ করতে হবে। That পরবর্তী clauseটি past perfect থাকলে direct এ এসে তা past indefinite tense এ রূপান্তরিত হবে। সুতরাং প্রদত্ত বাক্যটির direct form হলো- He said, 'the patient died early in the morning'.
3. The indirect form of the sentence 'We were told, the match had already started when she arrived' is
We were told the match had already started when she arrived.
We were told the match had already started when she had arrived.
We were told the match had already been started when she arrived.
We were told the match already started when she had arrived.
Direct narration-এ past perfect থাকলে তা indirect narration-এ past perfect-ই হবে। আর past indefinite tense-এ থাকলে past perfect-এ রূপান্তরিত হবে।

Reporting verb past tense-এ হলে indirect narration-এ রূপান্তর করতে reported speech-এর sub reporting verb এর sub অনুযায়ী পরিবর্তন হবে এবং reported speech-এর verb ও নিয়ম অনুযায়ী পরিবর্তন হবে। সে অনুযায়ী সঠিক উত্তর ঘ।

Wh যুক্ত বাক্যটিকে indirect narration করার structure: Sub + asked + what + sub + was doing (reporting verb past হলে reported speechটি present tense-এ থাকলে past হয়) + obj + extension.

Reported speech-এ যদি universal truth বা চিরন্তন সত্য কোনো উদ্ধৃতি থাকে তবে তা indirect speech এ অপরিবর্তিত থাকে। প্রদত্ত বাক্যটি কোনো advice বা উপদেশ নয়। এটি একটি Remark উদ্ধৃতি যা চিরন্তন সত্য। সুতরাং সঠিক উত্তর (গ)।
8. The indirect form of the sentence "He said, 'Let us go for a walk." is
He said that they must go for a walk.

Indirect narration করার ক্ষেত্রে let us থাকা বাক্যকে sub + suggested that + sub + should + verb এই structure টি follow করতে হয়।
9. He said to her 'What a cold day!' The indirect speech of this :
He told her that it was a cold day.
He exclaimed that it was a cold day.
He exclaimed sorrowfully that it was a cold day.

Exclamatory sentence-কে indirect speech করতে said to এর পরিবর্তে exclaimed এবং subject না থাকলে subject যোগ করতে হবে এবং যদি বাক্যে Adjective বা Noun থাকে তাহলে ঐ Adjective এর পূর্বে very/completely এবং Noun-এর আগে great যোগ করতে হবে।

Direct narration-এ thank you, thanks ইত্যাদি থাকলে said-এর পরিবর্তে thanked বসে বিধায় প্রদত্ত বাক্যটির indirect narration হলো The teacher thanked the boys .
12. The indirect form of the sentence 'She said to him, I don't believe you' should be
She told to him that she did not believe him.
She said to him that she had not believed him.

She said to him that she never believed him.
[Note: Indirect speech-এ said to, told-এ রূপান্তরিত হয়। Reported speech-এর sub, obj. এবং reporting verb-এর sub, obj. অনুযায়ী পরিবর্তিত হয়। Present indefinite tense past indefinite tense-এ পরিবর্তিত হয়। আর দুই clause-এর মাঝে that বসে। সুতরাং সঠিক indirect narration হবে She told him that she didn't believe him | প্রদত্ত 'ক' option-এ told-এর পরে to না থাকলে বাক্যটি সঠিক হতো ।।

বৃদ্ধ লোকটি বন্যাকে অভিশাপ করছে, তিনি অন্যকে অভিশাপ করতে বলছে না অর্থাৎ ইংরেজিতে অভিশাপ দিতে The old man cursed the flood ব্যবহৃত হয়। Reported verbটি past form-এ থাকায় বাক্যে curse-এর past form cursed ব্যবহৃত হবে।

Reported speech টি চিরসত্য হওয়ায় indirect-এ রূপান্তরের সময় sub এবং verb পরিবর্তন হবে না। Reporting verb এবং reported speech-এর মাঝে শুধু that বসিয়ে indirect form করতে হবে। সুতরাং প্রদত্ত বাক্যটির indirect form হলো : He said that we cannot be quite happy in this life.

Direct speech টি let দ্বারা শুরু হলে let দ্বারা যদি proposal বা suggestion না বোঝায়, তাহলে reporting verb-এর কোনো পরিবর্তন হয় না এবং linker হিসেবে that + sub + might + verb₁ হয়। গঠন অনুযায়ী (গ) অপশনের বাক্যটি সঠিক।
